Listen to your body

We have been given this amazing tool called body, that allows us to do almost impossible things, like swimming under ice ” World Champion freediver Stig Severinsen breaks new World Record 250 feet under ice in East Greenland – on a single breath of air.” Something like that seems unnatural and weird, yet we can train our body with the help of our mind to achieve incredible stunts like this one. So how come we are not in tune with our body all the time, especially in our daily chores. We are running our life way to much on autopilot and forget that we have something called a body barometer or natural guidance system, that indicates what our body needs in order to heal and stay healthy. Too many times we are driven by our addictions and follow an egoic decision and not a body heart based one. Continue reading “Listen to your body “

Energy Vampire or why you can’t stand certain people

Why do some people like to talk so much about there problems and drama in there life?

The answer is that we are beings of energy and we draw energy from each other. Most of the time this is an unconscious act and we do it until we feel recharged again. You could be a vampire yourself without knowing it, but the good news is you can change that. It is only a pattern that you may have followed for several years and you identify yourself with but it is also something that you can change very easy.

Have you ever noticed a person entering a room and suddenly all the good energy seems to be drained? You have met an energy vampire. They are people who carry around a lot of pain, problems unresolved issues and they yet haven’t figured out how to deal with them. It is not your responsibility to help them in fact, they need to help themselves. Here is where you need to set boundaries, so that you don’t give all your energy away and feel drained and tired or even angry after meeting them. Just be silly

What is transparent and smells like worms?

A birds fart.

Oh man that was funny, I was just thinking about making some old songs new. For example “dust in the wind” from Kansas which is such a beautiful song and I don’t mean to disrespect the art behind the work but wouldn’t it be funny if you grab your guitar and turn it into a fart song.

Weee and we had a laugh… Ok, you know life is so serious, we have to make all these big decisions and go to work to pay for our big decisions. You aren’t supposed to fool around all the time this life is a serious thing. Says who?
Ahh well, matter of fact laughing is the best medicine, apparently just pretending to laugh will set hormones free that make you feel good until you actually laugh for real and not only that, it helps the body to heal much like the purring of a cat. So lets all laugh a little more.

I am not very good a telling jokes, no hang on let me rephrase that, I am not very good at remembering someone elses well designed, well thought out joke. I am funny in the moment…You can ask my girlfriend, she loves my jokes. At least so she says or maybe just pretends… I am not sure anymore…

So where I am going with this is, with all this terror going on in the world all the stress you have in your life, be it from work or colleges, family or just your daily chores, try and let it go for a moment and think of something silly like when your dog slipped into the pool or your cat got stuck in the card board box, or when you yourself dropped some ice cream on your favourite blouse. Back then it probably wasn’t funny but now when you look back at it you can have a giggle, right?

Because you have detached yourself from the moment and from the blouse and you can now see it for what it really is. Something temporary. Something to adorn yourself with, just a thing not the real you.

I guess what I am trying to say is lets all have a little more fun in life more often. I hope it can make your day a little silly and goof around a bit until next time thanks for reading and ciao.

Songkran or the Thai New Year

This one is definitely for the water lovers, we are currently in Chiang Mai and it is the second day of the water festival also known as “songkran” or the Thai new year. Celebrating this tradition are young and old. All walking around with water guns or buckets to spray each other wet as to wash of the sins from the last year. Man and I must have been quite a sinner, completely soaked after just leaving our hotel for 2 min…

We managed to get a delicious meal in at the Salad Concept, wich I highly recommend if you want a break from the traditional thai food. I mean I love it but rice all the time…

And then we continued our way around the old city along the moat. It is such a good time getting wet and making people wet. After 3 hours of walking around soaking wet it was time for us to warm up again and dry off a little. No kidding there is a lot of ice water being tossed around and even though its almost 40 degrees it gets cold after a while.

If you want to read more about Songkran and it’s origin i’ve put the wikipedia page on this link.

Well I think after a bit of relaxing we are ready for yet another round of water spraying fun!!

Until then Hendrik

We all have them, we all work on them, yet so many fail for the strangest reasons. Why and how can we get better at them?

First of all lets take a look at the different relationships that exist. There is the one that we all have, which is our family and this is also in many cases the most challenging one, because you can’t run away from it. It will always catch up with you. Trust me I have tried to go as far away as possible, in my case from Germany to Australia but eventually my shit caught up with me again.

Running, being the keyword here. This is to my friends who run away from the tough times, I feel you but I am suggesting to go differently about it. Life is short and your relatives and family are always going to be in your life and arguments are just part of life, but we can choose to be not from the ego driven persona but from the real you.  If you want to find out more about the real you click here.

Especially not about non sense like who gets the cat when someone dies or even worse the house. Damn just split it equally, well not the cat that is. So lets just all love a little more and hate a little less. We are all brothers and sisters.

So anyway back to the running part, what can we do to stop running? Well slow down and perhaps take a seat. Get back into the breathing exercise that i mention in this article(link) and follow those steps.

When you got your self contained and back into your body, communicate with your family but not from your ego, but from your heart and let it out what happened last month at the dinner table where you felt like someone was making fun of you. I know this is the hardest part of all but we only have two decisions in life to make which is to evolve or to stagnate. The problem here is if we decide to stay in our bubble, comfort zone, whatever you want to call it, then we might as well just stop living since we are closing ourself from that space that allows us to grow and let the magic unfold.

A bit harsh these words but the truth sometimes hurts.

And so running isn’t the solution in fact it only puts an hold to it and slows your healing process down. What can we do?

Communicate from the heart

About Anger

One day Buddha walked through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him.
“You have no right teaching others” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake.”
Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?”
The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered “It would belong to me because I bought the gift.”
The Buddha smiled and said “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, than the anger falls back on you. You are the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.”
The man looked all confused.
The Buddha continued “If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others,” The Buddha smiled,
“everyone is happy.”
