Don’t be so hard on yourself


is a term I don’t use very often. I am in fact quite hard on myself and don’t give myself enough credit for the things that I have accomplished. It is easy to catch myself thinking, but if only I had this … ( insert item of want ) then my life would be complete and only then I am my full potential. But do you hear how that is just ego talking. No, me neither. Sometimes it talks and it really makes you believe that it is you talking and not your ego. Only when I catch myself going ah I want to go shopping or I browse for motorbikes on the internet or I end up on Netflix, basically falling into any of my addictions that’s when I realise I am trying to get back into living in the moment and I am trying to feel worthy and abundant.

So I am going to make a list of the things that i have accomplished and I will also start writing about how grateful I am for what I have and what I achieved and I will do that on a daily basis. Being grateful for what you have is one of the most amazing feelings, it increases your physical and mental wellbeing, which also increases your energy levels.

There are so many benefits to being grateful that I feel like I should write a seperate article for it… Anyway fact is that it makes you happier and so I started my journey of writing daily gratitude pages and morning pages as well.

Morning Pages  you ask, whats that? They are something I started doing a long time ago after reading Julia Cameron’s Book “The artist’s way”. Morning Pages are three pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing, done first thing in the morning. *There is no wrong way to do Morning Pages*


So you just write away and don’t stop until you got three pages full of words. If you don’t know what to write, then write that, eventually you come up with something new and even if not then you just fill up three pages with, “I don’t know what to write”. It really helps to let the clutter of the mind flow out of you and let go to make room for the artist in you.

Why would I want to do that you ask?

Well, good point. It’s a good exercise to get closer to the best in you, to find your real potential or if you found it already to go deeper into a world of wonder within. Everything in life is made up of patterns and  it’s about changing old patterns and letting new ones in. We can only grow if we change our thinking and ultimately our behaviours, by replacing bad or unhealthy patterns with healthy ones, with good ones. Ones that are in alignment with our higher purpose. So let’s get up and do it!

Open up the potential in us and infect others with it. Make them want to become better people.
